Laker Hockey Game to Air Nationally on NBCSN
Oct. 7, 2019
STAMFORD, Conn. - The Lake Superior State men's hockey game against the No. 8/9 University of Notre Dame on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET will be nationally televised on NBC Sports Network. It will be the first time that the Lakers will play in a nationally televised game since Feb. 5, 2016 when LSSU played Michigan Tech in the annual Winter Carnival series that was aired on the American Sports Network.
"We are excited for the opportunity to get to showcase Laker Hockey to a national audience," said Lake Superior State Head Coach Damon Whitten. "The ties between these two programs are a result of the legendary career of Jeff Jackson and we look forward to the challenge of facing off against Notre Dame in their home rink."
The game against the Lakers will be one of the seven Fighting Irish games that will be broadcasted on NBCSN nationally this season. The series will be highlighted by the coaching connection between the two teams as Notre Dame Head Coach Jeff Jackson led the Lakers to two NCAA National Championships during his six-year tenure as Lake Superior's head coach from 1990-96.
The second game of the series on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. ET will be aired on NBC Regional Affiliates, NBC Sports Chicago and SNY (Same Day Delay).
