Job seekers encouraged to check out local job fairs this spring

UPPER PENINSULA — Employers and job seekers will soon have an opportunity to meet at three community job fairs during the months of March and April.  Job seekers will be able to apply for a variety of year-round and seasonal jobs in one convenient location, while employers can save time and money by contacting prospective workers in just a few short hours.  Job seekers of all ages are encouraged to attend and to come dressed appropriately as if they were going to an interview.  These events are free to both employers and job seekers.

The Sault’s Job Fair will be held on Thursday, March 22 at the LSSU Walker Cisler Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Upward Talent Council Michigan Works! is working with the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Council and Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce to organize this year’s job fair. The St. Ignace Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at the Little Bear Arena from 2 to 4 p.m.  The St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Upward Talent Council Michigan Works! for this occasion.  Employers may register on-line at the link above or by calling the Chamber at 906-643-8717.

In Newberry, the Job Fair will be conducted on Thursday, April 19 at the Newberry American Legion Hall Post 74 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Luce County Upward Talent Council Michigan Works!
