FAN offers scholarships

Chippewa County Families Against Narcotics is offering scholarships for students just entering college and for students already enrolled.
For High School Students
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two EUP senior students intending to further their education at a community college, college, or university in the fall of 2017 studying social work, medicine, education, criminal justice, or first responder training.

Must have ten hours or more community service with Families Against Narcotics of Chippewa County to be completed prior to or by the end of the 2017 Fall semester (see attached sheet for opportunities)

Must be in good standing with current high school’s attendance and graduation criteria

Must complete a 500-700 word essay on substance abuse and prevention(about marijuana use, prescription drug misuse, or illegal drug use) you have learned in your association with FAN or the study of current relevant websites - and how these issues affect you and/or your peers OR
-
Create a video production of 5 – 10 minutes which explores issues you have learned about (regarding marijuana use, prescription drug abuse, or illegal drug use) while associated with FAN or during your study of relevant websites and/or attendance at relevant awareness events - and how these issues affect you and/or your peers

Sources used must be credited at the end of your project

Must have two letters of recommendation from an adult, teacher, or mentor (with contact information)

Must have a resume which lists any awards, accomplishments, extra-curricular activities (sport, clubs), school and community service activities, and work history (if applicable)

Must be enrolled in and attending a community college, college, or university by the fall following graduation.

A copy of high school transcript with cumulative grade point must be made available

A copy of a college acceptance letter must be submitted

Projects submitted will become the property of Families Against Narcotics of Chippewa County and may be used to further raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of substance abuse.

For College Students
$1,000 Families Against Narcotics (FAN) of Chippewa County College Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one EUP resident, a student furthering his/her education at a community college, college, or university in the fall of 2017 who is studying social work, medicine, education, criminal justice, or first responder training.

Must have ten hours or more community service with Families Against Narcotics of Chippewa County to be completed prior to or by the end of the 2017 Fall Semester (see attached list for opportunities)

Create a video production of 10 or more minutes which explores issues you have learned about (regarding marijuana use, prescription drug abuse, or illegal drug use) while associated with FAN or during your study of relevant data and/or attendance at relevant awareness events - and how these issues affect you and/or your peers
