(September 8, 1926 - February 15, 2010)
Archie L. Piche, age 83, a lifelong resident of Brimley, Michigan, entered eternal life early Monday morning – February 15, 2010, with his loving wife and children at his side at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida.
Archie was born in Dafter, Michigan on September 8, 1926, to William and Mary Piche. Archie was raised on the family farm on Piche Side Road. He married Grace Graham on October 28, 1950 and they purchased the family farm and began raising their own family. After farming for many years, Archie and Grace sold the farm and built a new home on Six Mile Road near Brimley. Archie retired from the Chippewa County Road Commission in 1989 after working there for 20 years. He and Grace spent a few winters traveling until they found their perfect retirement location in Bushnell, Florida.
Archie took great pride in his vegetable gardens. He was often found at local craft fairs selling his huge zucchini. Archie enjoyed helping Grace chop vegetables and fruit for their famous pies and sauces. He was a loving and caring person; but always enjoyed a practical joke. Archie truly enjoyed his family and friends, making everyone who stopped by feel special. He loved sharing stories of “being on the farm” and the tricks that he and friends played on others. Archie was a very generous person – applauding the accomplishments and successes of his children and grandchildren. His laughter was contagious and will be greatly missed.
Archie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Grace; children – Duane (Debra); Theresa (Ron) Mills; Kathy (Al) O’Brien; David (Kim); all of Brimley and Dennis of Lenexa, Kansas. Grandchildren - Amy (Fiore) Cappelli; Renee (Bob) Johnson; Sally Piche, Suzanne Mills, Adam (Shari) Mills, Luc Piche, and Lance Piche all of Brimley; Scott (Katherine) O’Brien; Chad (Lyndy) O’Brien of Sault Ste.
