Jerry T. Benoit
Jerry Thomas “Dumpy” Benoit, 56, of Brimley, Michigan passed away early Wednesday morning, Jan. 13, 2010 in Brimley, Michigan.
Jerry was born on Oct. 10, 1953 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the crane clan of the Bay Mills Indian Community. He was a firekeeper for many years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids. He collected anything that had to do with wolves and loved to eat red licorice.
Jerry is survived by his five daughters: Kristi (Jason) Barnett of Indiana, Jamie Lynn Benoit of Brimley; Heather Ann (Rory) Haskins of Sault Ste.
Marie, MI, Tamara Lee Benoit of Brimley, MI, and Brittany Marie Benoit of Dorr; nine grandchildren: Bradley, Madlyn, Gabriel, Ian, Allysia, Logan, Radly,Summer, and Ashlynn; and his parents: Louis and Margaret (Causley) Benoit of Sault Ste. Marie. He is also survived by a brother: Harold (Peggy) Benoit of Rexton, MI; three sisters: Carol Benoit, Brenda (Stephen) Kwiatkowski, and Deanna Benoit all of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his grandson Michael Barnett.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. that same day, at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with Father
Sebastian Kavumkal as celebrant. Burial will be at Will Walk Cemetery later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to help with funeral expenses.
