Gilbert Terry
Gilbert Wayne Terry of Brimley, Mich., died March 23, 2010 at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1942 in Bettsville, Ohio.
Working as a tool & die welder for many years, Gilbert loved to talk to people and to "tinker" — he was an artist with metal. He was a Masonic member and past Worshipful Master Universal Lodge 593. Gilbert was known for his generous spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Joan LaCourse, whom he married in 1983 in Wayne; four daughters, Kate (Phil) Tatom, Sarah Goddard, Kathleen (Jeff) Lawson and Robin (Jerry) Lee; a sister, Lois (Eldon) Cooper; two brothers, Forrest (Debbie) Terry and Robert (JoAnn) Terry; eight grandchildren, Jack Tatom, Casey Lawson, James Lawson, Stephanie Lee, Alex Lee, Danielle Lee, Colin Lee and Zachary Lee; three brothers-in-law, Greg (Mary) Kolly, Michael (Anne) Metrish and John (Gail) LaCourse; and two brothers in spirit, Larry (Arleen) Edmunds and Larry (Marsha) Sweet.
Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, Roy and May Terry; two sisters, Vivian Terry and Evelyn Terry; and four brothers, Russell (Janice) Terry, Cooper Terry, Harold Terry and Gale Terry.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 27 at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Bay Mills from 12 to 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow with Father Ted Brodeur and Father Sebastian Kavumkal as Celebrants. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.
