Joan Parish
Joan C. Parish of Brimley died Jan. 31, 2011 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. She was born Dec. 19, 1957 in Sault Ste. Marie. Joan enjoyed garage sales, art, shopping and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher J. Parish, whom she married in 1976; three daughters, Abigail (Curtis) Mikolowski, Lucy (Matt) DeWildt and Grace Parish; five sisters, Mary (Melvin) Schwiderson, Patty (Mark) Candell, Ann (Russ) Edmonds, Jane (Bill) Scheid and Lori (Chris) Whealy; two brothers, David (Nancy) Greengtski and John (Gina) Greengtski; five grandchildren, Adele Healy, Isabella and Marc DeWildt and Madison and Andrew Boeringa; 34 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Christine Chartrand.
Predeceasing Joan are her parents, Robert and Mary Greengtski; a brother, Joe Greengtski; and two sisters who died at birth, Leona and Irene Greengtski.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 4 at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Bay Mills from 9 a.m. to noon with funeral mass immediately following, Father Ted Brodeur as Celebrant. Final resting place will be Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the EUP. Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangement.
